Internet Speed Monitor

Yesterday, i was working on my computer when a window opened up with the title "Internet Speed Monitor." It is all just advertisements, and every 3 or 4 minutes, another window will just open up, even if I am not online. I am using Internet Explorer 7, with a high-speed connection. Is there any way to get rid of this virus or spyware or adware, or whatever is plaguing my computer? I tried going to Add/Remove programs and deleting the program that installed itself on my computer called "Internet Speed Monitor," and the problem went away for a few hours, and now its back! What can I do?? Help please!!

You have a virus. I recommend taking the computer to the 24/7 I.T. Support Center in the MLK building. They can remove the virus for you and get you some anti-virus software.
