UAWiFi on Vista - Now Working?
I just wanted to let everyone know that I tried connecting to UAWiFi AGAIN today and - it worked! I didn't change anything, but I recently installed some system updates.
I checked the threads and no one else seems to have connected, so I thought I'd pass it along. So, nobody get your hopes up, but try updating Vista and see if you can connect now. Good luck! |

HOLY COW!
It finally works!! You will need to enter your NetID & password, but that's all. No weird setup procedure!

Horrah! That's probably what all the UAWiFi funkiness has been about the past 3-4 weeks.

It will automatically recognize it as WPA2 Enterprise w/AES & PEAP.
WAY easier than XP setup.

Does it know to use the Equifax certificate? I'd check, but my vista machines are at home currently.

Yes, it automatically selects the Equifax certificate.

I've found a slight problem: when you restart, Windows attempts to automatically connect you but gives the error "Windows cannot connect you to UAWiFi. Please contact your network administrator."
It then hops on the next network in the list, but if you go pick UAWiFi it connects right away.

Nevermind -- you need to remove UAPublic/UAGuest from your list and the problem will not come up again.

ever since uawifi started working on vista..it stops working for my wireless card on XP.
the card is an aetheros 3500 (spelled something like that) It sees the connections and connects..but it says "limited or no connectivity" which mean..no connectivity. This is the same case as UApublic and UAguest I even went as far as deleting the connections and install it again and I redid my connection settings..and reregister for the wireless. Basically everything, I even went to the atheros website to update my wireless drivers on a LAN connection. Nothing works.. any help? |

It wasn't the updates
It wasn't the updates that fixed it. I havn't booted, or updated Vista in over a month and I just fired up to test and I was able to connect right up to UAWiFi. To quote Ken Boynton's post to NetDiscuss Wednesday:
---- This is true; I made some changes to the UAWiFi SSID and the controllers to get Vista up and working. I’m waiting for word from Cisco to see if there are any repercussions to the changes that I made. I will update everyone once I have confirmation. Last edited by nlopez; 04-27-2007 at 04:43 PM. Reason: BTW, posted from Vista on UAWiFi |

Quang, maybe give the Underground a call and set up an appointment. Perhaps one of the TLs down there can take a look and see what's up.
