Edit: Reading through all those articles and the official Wiki it appears you can install it under VMWare. Suffice it to say I will try that today and post screenshots later.

I'm sure this hack won't work with the actual shipping release of OSX, and I also understand that this hack breaks Rosetta which means you get no PPC binaries which means you have no software but Apple stuff.
Whatever makes you happy, but it's not going to be like getting a free G5 or something.
Enjoy.

I have always assumed that someone somewhere would crack whatever protection is in place to prevent MacOS X from running on non-Apple hardware. However, as long as the work around is sufficiently difficult, i.e. downloading a pirated illegal copy and hacking the bjeezers out of it or installing mod-chips in your Dell, the population of computer users who actually DO this will be sufficiently small, and will not cannibalize sales of Apple hardware.
There will always be people who install every OS they can on all the machines they own just because they can. I'm not sure this is the marker that Apple is targeting however, and privately I'm sure they're thrilled that the OS is getting into more people's hands. It's these crazy people who end up recommending purchases to their employers, who will likely be good corporate citizens and buy legit software / hardware.
I think I'm in the camp of people who think that Apple will one day open the OS up to other hardware manufacturers. Apple will continue to make hardware that their OS runs especially well on, and people will continue to buy Apple Macs for the style and performance much in the same way people choose to buy an Alienware PC vs a Gateway.
Apple has a taste of what it's like to be the market leader with the iPod, and they like it.

Rosetta will NOT work if your CPU does not Have SSE3 Instructions. As Rosetta requires this, all of these websites popping over the web claim this as well. So long as your CPU has the SSE3 instruction set (as most modern P4 AMD64 chipsets do) you will be golden.
Boo ya!
