wireless connect UAWiFi and UAPublic

I have a Gateway laptop with a 802.11n wireless card and am running VISTA. I cannot connect to either the UAWiFi nor the UAPublic wireless networks. My computer MAC address is registered with UA and I am using my NetID and PW as directed. I can see the UAWiFi and the UAPublic wireless networks along with a few other networks when I search for all wireless networks. When I try to connect to the UA I get the message that I cannot connect and the choice to connect to another network.

I went into the OSCR office a few weeks ago and was told the wireless card was incompatible with VISTA. It is the card that shipped with VISTA and the computer. I did not install any new hardware. I spoke with Gateway support and they insist the wireless card is operational because the networks are detectible just not able to connect to them.

I am able to wirelessly connect to an open public network at a local government building where a family member works. It has WPA security and is not password protected. My laptop can detect the network and connect to it flawlessly.

Please help me connect to UAWiFi or even UAPublic. What can be wrong?

You might just need to update to the latest driver version. Wireless N cards didn't work very well with UAWiFi or public when they first came out. What is the exact model number for your gateway?

My gateway model number is MT6458, serial number is T027471008843. I have the current drivers. That was one of the first things that Gateway support had me check. They were updated as of 12/20.

Unfortunately the latest driver off the gateway website is still several months old and the wireless card itself is a very young model. It may just not support UAWiFi yet. Try this installing this: http://www.marvell.com/drivers/driverDisplay.do?dId=175&pId=39. It's directly off the marvell website, but I'm not sure if it's for your wireless card.
