My Macbook is detecting the wireless netwroks around campus just fine. It says it is connected to UAPublic but I can't bring up and webpages; Safari loads with the "you are not connected" page and Firefox says "server not found". I'm Not sure what the nature of this error is, what should I be looking at?

Hi so you shouldn't connect to UAPublic, you should really use UAWiFi. you will need to register your net id and password. follow the guide on our website http://downloads.oscr.arizona.edu/wireless/macsetup.pdf. after you complete the guide you should be able to connect to UAWiFi, if you still can't connect then i recommend you call down to the OSCR help desk 626-8324 to set up an appointment with one of our tech leads or come in on Tuesday or Thursday between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm for a walk-in appointment we are located in ILC room 136.

Like Cassandra said you should try to use UAWiFi but if you cannot get that working what is your ip address that your computer is getting when connecting to UAPublic? you can see this by going to the system preference>click on network >then select the airport card>then select the TCP/IP tab and you should be able to see your IP Address, while there also make sure that DHCP is selected and you are not using a static IP address. If this does not work then feel free to come in on tue. thur. between 9am-7pm in ILC 136 or call 626-TECH to make an appointment!
