The only wireless network that you'd be able to play Xbox live on is UAWiFi and as far as I know every gaming wireless adapter for consoles is incompatible with it. UAPublic (which your xbox is probably connecting to by default) blocks all access to the internet except for basic browsing via a web browser.

In order for your xbox to work on the wall connection you will need to register the xbox's MAC address at dhcp.arizona.edu

Good luck getting a 360 on UAWiFi, does it do PEAP certificate authentication?

Every wireless device that I've seen for gaming consoles is basically a wireless bridge between 1 network to another (In this case Xbox to UAWiFi), and in some cases even acts as a natting device (which the UofA doesn't like). But Josh since the xbox360 has no real wireless functionality, it depends on a 3rd party device you really have to depend on that device to support WPA/WPA2 Enterprise, PEAP, and the Equifax Certificate. I personally haven't found any that do that.

You are also forced to use UAWiFi because UAPublic blocks all traffic except for basic traffic that passes through port 80 and 443 (Traffic that is generated from a web browser such as firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari)

To anyone that wants to use any gaming console in the dorms online, cut your loses and purchase a network cable that will reach from the jack in your wall to your console. Getting it to work on UAWiFi isn't going to happen

I can't seem to get past the IP failure.. I've talked to kids that haven't had any problem with it. Any help?

Wait 1/2 an hour after registering to make sure the routers have your MAC address. If that does not work post back with more information such as how you are plugging it in, what type of cable, and any other information you think might help.
