Linking in Dreamweaver

This is probably a really stupid question, but I can't link to a webpage in dreamweaver. Whenever I try, the program tries to make the webpage a file on my computer. Anyone know how I can get around that?

make sure you have http:// in front of the link, if you just did say wikipedia.org then dreamweaver takes that a location on your computer where as if you do http://wikipedia.org it will take it as a link to the internet. Hope that helps.
