Help! For some reason, when i use voice chat (yahoo messenger) and have hands free enabled, whenever someone speaks to me I hear it but it gets sent right back to them as feedback. This shouldn't happen because I'm using headphones so there is no way the mic could pick up the sound. I think i found the problem. I opened sound recorder and opened a .wav file. I then unplugged my mic, hit record in sound recorder and then clicked play on the .wav file. For some reason, it recorded the sound that was playing even though there was no microphone. Can anyone help me?

I believe there is a checkbox somewhere in the audio settings specifically for this type of loop-back. I don't recall which, but before you go around checking and unchecking things, write down your current settings and then try that.
I'm sorry I can not be more help than that.

Go into Volume Control, Options, Properties, then dot next to Recording. Make sure Microphone is checked below and click OK. That should then go to the sliders for the recording device selections. Select Microphone and see if that fixes it.
