Yo homies,
Ive been noticing ever since I installed my PCMCIA 802.11b card for my laptop, my machine hangs when shutting down. I have never had any trouble of this sort.. Any ideas? Is there a way to log my shutdown to see where it's hanging? I know there's a way to do that starting up in safe mode...

Search the MS website for "User Profile Hive Cleanup". This cures long log-in and log-out times.

For anyone else with this problem, here are a few additional things to try.
Check Local Security Policy to make sure "Clear virtual memory pagefile at shutdown" is DISABLED. Having this enabled can easily add 2 minutes to shutdown time (depending on pagefile size).
Check the registry for keys under HKLM under Winlogon to see what is going on at shutdown. A corrupted key could be screwing with your shutdown process.
Also check driver/DLL integrity. Corrupted drivers & DLLs won't unregister/unload correctly at shutdown which basically brings the system to a halt.
When all else fails, go to Safe Mode and see if the problem is duplicated there. I'd then start slowly re-enabling things until the problem returns.
