help with OS 9.2.2

ive got an old imac that for some reason isnt working properly, the OS isnt loading up at first, i managed to boot it from the disc, but when i try and instal it, it says "the helper application "installer engine" unexpectedly quit. the installation process has been stopped" its mac os 9.2.2

anyone know how i can re instal it back on?

Boot to your OS 9 install disc and just drag over a second copy of the System Folder. Reboot without the CD in, and you're set.

so copy the system folder from the CD over to the system folder in the hard disk?
