My printer is brand new, I used it about 4 times. Now I'm having problems with it. I think it might have to do with the fact that I dropped an earring where the paper goes. I turned the printer upside down and the earring came out. None of the earring was left behind but still my computer says its having problems comunicating with the printer. I already tried getting a new usb cord. The weird thing is that it will scan and send the scans to the computer but it won't receive printing jobs. Oh yes also the power button blinks all the time now...I can't get it to stop.
SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!

That is a very general description of the problem so there are potentially many reasons why it is not working. Again I would suggest the link above for Lexmark's support site.

1200 series really doesn't tell us anything, your gonna have to be a lot more specific. Look where the serial number is, there is usually a model number close by.

you see the funny thing is all these printers have on them, or in their files online is 1200 series. and the lexmark website dont appear to have any info on the damned things

My blanket-statement solution is to completely uninstall all the Lexmark software from your computer, reboot, and reinstall it.

I worked on a printer in couple months ago in the underground that a client brought in. Not sure of the make or model, it was pretty old, but I found a bunch of candy wrappers and a lollipop stick stuck in the paper feed. Pulled it out and still couldn't get the printer to run. I realize this didn't help what so ever but I jsut thought I'd share.

I have the same problem as others. A new (unused) Lexmark 1200 that doesnt work. It came along with a new laptop that I got from Best Buy.
I loaded it multiple times and still nothing. It wont even print or scan, whihc are things that are usually done without it even being hooked up to a computer.

i just got a new lexmark 1200 printer and it wont even let me install it! It says that there is something wrong with the connection between the printer and the computer. I tried every suggestion they gave, and it still does not work. The computer reads that the printer is hooked up, but the installation software doesnt read that the printer is hooked up...

I Have A 1200series Lexmark Printer And A Emachines Computer. Two Days Ago, I Used My Printer And It Was Working Fine. Yesterday I Tried Printing And It Didn't Acknowledge It. Today I Worked On It For Eight Hours With No Luck. I've Done Everything Uninstalled To Reinstall, Umpluged Printer And Tried Restarting,nothing Is Working. Now It Says That Wizard Was Cancelled By User And That Lexmark 1200 Series Failed. What Should I Do?

uninstall completly your printer, and reinstall it again following the instructions, and pluging it in when asked. Good luck!!

I installed my printer, than my boyfriend uninstalled it trying to clean up my computer and now I can't find the disc. Is there anything I can do, or anywhere I can find the disc???? The printer is the Lewmark x1250.

Are you using Windows XP or Windows Vista?

this is the most confusion thing i have ever read... unregistered user posting then another one posts something different or the same... i dont know whats going on ...haha? wow

well i have a lexmark 2500 series and the install went fine when i did it (VISTA) and using the right software and drivers, everything was working in 10 minutes... all you have to do is follow the steps by the dot


as far as the broken printer thing, if its brand new just send it back to the store OR call lexmark and they will honor a warranty for you, they always should

I have had one of these dammed machines for a month now, and I have found out how to deal with it.
Follow this procedure;

1/ uninstall printer software
2/ disconnect all leads
3/ take it into your backyard
4/ place it inside your rubbish bin
5/ take deep breaths and relax

Robert you have had the best answer yet the Lexmark 1200 has to be the worst printer, I am having the same problems as most people. Installed soft ware and ready to use but when try to scan or print it wont do it. Im with windows vista.

I recovered everything on my computer, so my lexmark printer was sortta uninstalled, I don't have the installation cd any more what do I do?

2 steps

2. Write nasty letters to the basketball team because they just lost to asu again.

i had a similar problem just bout a new toner few weeks ago from Quikshiptoner.com and my printer is working fine now.
