OS X phone home!

Well everyone likes pointing the fingers at Microsoft for how their software "phones home" without really telling you.

But now it would seem that Apple's Mac OS X does the same thing (http://apcmag.com/3795/its_not_just_windows_os_x_phones_home_too).

Not saying this to bash Apple, but I think it's just inevitable that an OS will need to contact the manufacturer at various times.

Way old news. People threw their first temper tantrum about that months ago when they added that up-to-date check. It also checks for known malicious widgets too I think. As I recall the "incidious secret communications" amount to "what's the latest version of X?"
