I have just recently purchased a 4 Gig ipod nano.
before i purchased my ipod i already had itunes ver. 6 (not sure about what version i had) and it worked and played music but i couldnt use it with my ipod because it said the ipod requires to have itunes version 7.0.2
i upgraded my itunes and it said it was successful but when i click on my icon all i get is an hourglass for a few seconds and the itunes icon blinks for a split second
i tried deleting everything and reinstalling it all but it still does the same thing
about a year ago i completely rebooted my computer too if that would help you any
Please help!

How long have you let iTunes sit before you gave up on it? There was quiet a big version difference between 6 & 7 and something needed to be converted over (gapless playback, and downloading album art to name a couple).

No, I'm saying just install iTunes 7, but when you launch it to let iTunes sit for a while. iTunes 7 has to do some converting before it will be ready to play. When I upgraded from iTunes 6 to 7, iTunes sat for I'd say around a half an hour looking for music to convert for gapless playback and then going through my entire library again and downloading missing album art. If it still doesn't work I'd suggest calling the Underground and making an appointment with a Tech Lead so we can take a look at it

I have the exact same problem. I know that i give it enough time to open but that isn't the problem. I tried everything i could think of, including things they suggested in the troubleshoots on the apple site. Nothing seems to work. I installed the same version of itunes on my sisters laptop and it works perfectly fine so i don't understand what the problem is. Anyhelp?
