Hi, I produced an animation series called 'remains' which is now moving into the Podcasting area. We used a dictaphone to record the voices for the animation but the sound needs to be slightly clearer, well alot clearer. So I bought a microphone, but its not that good. It only cost me 11 quid. We work in a small room, but it isnt sound-proofed, so there is normally quite a bit of background noise. I am aware that I can use audio software but I still want the audio to be as perfect as possible. What can you all recommend for me, and what sort of spec would give me clear audio in an everday quiet room situation. Im using an Olympus VN120 dictaphone and I basically would like to know:

Does it matter what medium the microphone is attached to or will the quality be the same quality as the microphone regardless?

Which is the best type of microphone for recording a very high range of voicework, but yet still mobile, to be attached to my dictaphone?

Will this do?
