Today NVDIA announced and released the GeForce 8800GTX and 8800GTS graphics cards

The specs:
Unified Shaders
NVIDIA’s GigaThread technology
Quantum Effects physics processing
128-bit floating point HDR lighting
16x anti-aliasing
DirectX 10 with shader model 4.0 support.

GeForce 8800 GTX
128 unified shaders or "stream processors" clocked at 1350 MHz
Core Clock 575 MHz
768MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 900 MHz = 1.8 GHz 384-bit memory bus
10.5 in long
$659.99 / $669.99 on newegg (5 models)

GeForce 8800 GTs
96 unified shaders or "stream processors" clocked at 1200 MHz
Core Clock 500 MHz
640MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 800 MHz = 1.6 GHz 320-bit memory bus
9 in long
$499.99 on newegg (7 models)

I am still trying to wade through all the hype, although last week I saw preliminary benchmarks on dailytech that showed 1.5 to 2x the framerates of the ATI X1950XTX!

There are several benchmarks here:

It beats (2) ATI 1950XTX Crossfire in almost every benchmark and (2) 7900GTX SLI in every benchmark. It especially shines at the highest resolutions and with the most effects enabled.

Interestingly, the Crossfire X1950s beat it in this test:

That is likely because they used an Intel D975XBX2 motherboard instead of the brand new NVIDIA 680i for the benchmarks (because they didn't have one available)

FROM ARTICLE:
'Then there's the question of a test platform. Naturally we wanted to use the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor but that limited us to an Intel chipset and we're forever hearing from Nvidia that Intel can't do PCI Express to save its life. Turning to the reviewer's guide once again we are told to "please use an nForce 680i motherboard" - an unreleased product as yet - so it's a shame that the hardware isn't available.'
'In the end I opted to run the Core 2 Extreme QX6700 on an Intel D975XBX2 motherboard with 2GB of Corsair XMS2 memory and a WD150 Raptor hard drive running Windows XP SP2, which means I'll have to build an Nvidia test rig to give GeForce 8800 GTX SLI a run in a week or two.'

Nice.

Hopefully it will fit...lol.

Yeah, that thing is bigger than my graphics card, and that thing barely fits in a near-full size tower.
