I have a i9300 and i know for a fact that the power jack has come loose. I opened it up and inspected the area and at least 3 of the prongs are broken. I cannot get the battery to charge, or power up the system on AC. However, I can power up the system on battery.

Now, I was wondering if I obtained a spare power jack if anyone has any soldering skills. Can you guys resolder it @ one of the computer labs?

Let me know,
Evan

ps- I registered, but when I log in it still says I'm not logged in.

We cannot resolder it. Not only do we not have the tools, but we don't perform repairs like that.

You may want to contact SWS Computers here in town to see if they'll handle it.

Is the laptop still under warranty? If so, you can probably get the thing repaired by Dell. It couldn't hurt to call them and see if they'll cover you, even if you're a little past warranty.
