It's the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700
It is 2 - Core 2 E6700 processors on one die (similar to the way the Pentium D is 2 - Pentium 4s on one die)
But it is pretty cool that one is out already

Is this like the consumer version of Clovertown? This is the first I've heard of Kentsfield (though, admittedly, I haven't been paying all that much attention).

And I forgot to mention that it is $999 and the 4 cores run at 2.66GHz.
Intel isn't releasing another quad-core until January and it is a 2.4GHz for $851 according to their roadmap. I had heard that they were expensive. Hopefully AMD will help bring prices down in 2007.

Personally I'd just hold out for the quad-core Xeon coming soon....

Although the list is supposed to be $999, today was the official release and the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz is for sale at $1,499 on newegg. Ouch!

There were also 4 "Clovertown" Quad-Core Xeon 5300 series server processors released today - here are the specs:
E5310 - 1.60 GHz - 80 watts - $455
E5320 - 1.86 GHz - 80 watts - $690
E5345 - 2.33 GHz - 80 watts - $851
X5355 - 2.66 GHz - 120 watts - $1172
