Hi All!
I was hoping that someone could assist me with siging on to the UAWifi network on my laptop. I've got a Toshiba Satellite with Windows XP Media Center Edition. I did the step by step process in "Windows Zero Configuration Setup for UAWifi". The problem that I am running into is that after I do the setup and get the balloon informing me of 'in range networks', I click on the balloon and it does not give me the option to sign in to the network; it starts connecting on its own. I double and triple checked that I had the configuration settings correct. Hope that you can help.

Thanks,
Tyler

You might need to update your wireless card drivers. Check Toshiba's website for a newer version.

Stop in at the Underground help desk (ILC 136, between rooms 120 & 130) anytime between 8 and 6 and someone can help you out.

Change the default order of your networks and make sure UAWiFi is higher than UAPublic.
Otherwise, go see Dan or one of the other Tech Leads in the Underground.

Thanks guys!
I was looking for a toshiba wireless driver, when it dawned on me that my wireless card is an intel PROset. When I clicked on the icon it allowed me to enable the card as the wireless manager. After enabling the card it prompted me through some similar settings configurations that were posted to the "Windows Zero Configuration Setup". Thanks Guys!

I forgot to mention that the configuration setup it had me go through, contained one or two different fields that could be enabled. I left these alone and had no problems logging onto the UAWifi network; just in case anybody else ran into the same problem as me.

There's a possibility that it is still set to connect to any non-preferred wireless networks...

Go into your:
1) "Choose A Wireless Network" window,
2) Click "Change Advanced Settings" on the right options panel,
3) Select the "Wireless Networks" tab on the window that pops up,
4) Under Preferred networks, click "Advanced",
5) Make sure that "Automatically connect to non-preferred networks" is UNCHECKED.

I see that this has been solved. :)
