Hello. i'm not sure if this is the right place to post up this question... but I'm having trouble with some files. My laptop & computer suggests I use QuickTime Player in order to play this media file that includes both voice and video. However, all I see is a white screen when i play it on my laptop(Acer). But when i do play it on my computer, I can see the video. Can someone please help me fix this problem? Thank you for your time.

If I remember correctly, this is caused by not having the right codec (decoder). You seem to have the right audio decoder, but not the right video decoder.

What particular file type is it? (AVI, MPEG, etc)

I would start by reinstalling QuickTime.

If they're .mpg files they could be a number of different codecs. Where did you get the files from?

Actually it's my Accounting CD "textbook" for univesity. It's published by McGraw Hill Ryerson.

Have you tried playing it in any other application? Like Windows Media Player? Or VLC?

Quicktime is infamous for associating itself with just about every imaginable file extension (.mpg, .avi, .mov, etc), whether or not it's actually capable of playing the file back. I'd try and play it in Windows Media Player first, and if that still doesn't work (which, if its from such a large company as McGraw-Hill, it really should), go to http://www.videolan.org and download VLC - there isn't a codec under the sun that VLC doesn't have.

Oh dear. I tried playing it on WMP but it still didn't work. And I just realized that when i actually play the audio file, and since I'm using Adobe Acrobat reader... it automatically uses Adobe Acrobat -Media. 0.o So does anybody here know that much on Acrobat? Sorryy for all the trouble.
