Power Surge

Hey all,

Last night the rain knocked out my power a couple times, and shut off my computer (obviously). It wouldn't start back up for anything, until I went and noticed that the link light was still lit on my hub. I unplugged the ethernet connection and plugged it back in, and then it started for me.

Anyone ever heard of this? Seems pretty strange to me.

The lights in the dorms flickered a few times. Strangely, my TV, XBOX, and TiVo didn't power off but many people's computers shut down.

I'd say get a UPS if you're paranoid.
