New Quick Q: Will MAC Read an NTFS Formatted External HD? As in just recongnize it, long enough for me to drag some stuff off. I would assume it would, seeing as all the LACIE External HD's go back and forth between MAC and PC.
Hm..unless those are FAT32. Damn, someone help :)

I found this question unclear at best. I have seen, with my own eyes, with my own drives, NTFS firewire volumes mount on my powerbook and my cube. However. In the performance of my duties over at College of Fine Arts, we have seen many NTFS drives that would not mount at all, and would often give us the classic "Volume that Mac OS doesn't not understand".
I don't know what the official position is, truth be told, but my only advice is try it, and if it works, bonus, if it doesn't, shed a tear and sidle along.

I have mounted NTFS drives in OS X just fine. The issue is that macs do READ ONLY mounts of NTFS, so you can get data off, but can't put anything back on.

Sorry for the cross post btw.
GRUB should work fine as the bootloader. I look forward to trying this tomorrow.
