View Full Version : Internet Suspended

I was directed today to a page, telling me that my network connection has been suspended because I need some update, but do not have Automatic Update turned on. Well, I do have it enabled and always have, so I don't understand what I've done wrong or how to fix it. Any help you can give me with this would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running any sort of wireless or wired router in your room? If so, you need to call 520-626-8324 and set up an appointment ASAP. The router may need to be reconfigured. OSCR techs will also be in the lobby of the Gila residence hall this Sunday from 2-6pm so you can take the router there as well.


You need to also have Automatic Updates set to not only automatically download, but automatically install for you too.

In XP, the exact setting is "Automatic (recommended) -- Automatically download recommended updates and install them".

Well, my internet just got suspended for the automatic updates even though I've had it on and working for awhile now. I don't like how this program is screwing with me even though I'm in compliance.

Sometimes the error message is wrong. Check your antivirus program and make sure it's up to date. (Also check your system clock to make sure it's correct).

And if that's up to date, come on in for walk-ins at the Underground tomorrow from 9 AM to 4 PM and we can check what the NAC system (network access control, the thing that allows or disallows internet access) says about your computer being blocked.

I would also recommend making sure that you only have one antivirus program installed. I saw it once where that was the problem.

This is happening to me too. It happened first a few weeks ago to both my roommate and I. I went to the mobile help desk and got it fixed, but a couple days ago it stopped working again. Then yesterday I got back from my class and it worked until very early this morning, but when I tried again, around 11 it had stopped working again. My roommate's internet is still working though.

Please provide us with more details -- what was the initial problem? What did they do to fix it? The more information you can provide, the more assistance I can offer.
