got a call this morning from a fellow who was unable to post to forums-
he could not submitt a post because he was not registered and when he would go registration page it says he was allready registered
I wonder if it could be a problem with anon. posting disabled

Users need to login before they can post now. As you know we have disabled anonymous posting. If he logins and then can not post then we have a problem.

It sounds like he tried to register, but was denied the ability to do so.

Yes, but he was denied registration because he was already registered.

Was a telephone number, name, etc. taken so an OSCR guru can "make their day" and solve our issue with their inability to post to the forums?

I had this problem before I worked at OSCR. I would try to login with my NetID, it would say logging in but when the redirect took you back to your page you would still show up as a guest.

Possibly try clearing cookies, or monkey around with the WebAuth settings.

Doesn't make a difference, methinks. I was getting the same message the first couple hundred times I tried to register for the forums. Even tried from several different computers. Eventually I was registered as an OSCR employee internally, and then I was able to login, but there does seem to be a definite problem with outside registration.

OK, you guys convinced me...there is a problem registering for the forums. We (the Development Team) will look into the problem and get it fixed.

I appreciate the feedback and the "heads up" that there is a problem with the forums...kudos to Jessica and Scott.

While you're at it, Carlos Murphy (one of the multimedia consultants) would like me to make it known that he's not even registered on the forums as an employee, nor can he register otherwise, so whoever can fix that, I think he would appreciate it. :-p
