Hi, I wonder if you can Help.
When I listen to my MP3's on the Computer They all work Fine, However when I write them to a disc and listen to them on my MP3 CD PLAYER some of them sound slower and jerky...
Please Help..
Regards.
Marvolo.

Look at the encoding rate. Are the jerky songs higher rates, like 320? If so, it's likely a buffer problem in your MP3 CD player. If that's the case, you should be able to convert them to a lower bit rate, and listen to them OK.

ok hi, someone has deleted the audio driver from my computer and no sound can be heard, when I checked devices there is nothing there and now I am stumped on how do I find out what soundcard I have or even what kind of audio driver i need all I can tell you is that the computer is an acer...all ideas are welcome....thanks
Hi, I went to the acer website and found all sorts of sound drivers. Go to the link below, input your computer type and search for "audio driver".
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/portal.cfm?formid=3394&website=AcerPanAm.com/us&originwebsite=acerpanam.com&pupv=pu
From there you should be able to find the correct one and download it. Hope this helps!

Copying post:
"Hello everyone,
My soundcard recently quit working and I can't determine why. I was last using my microphone in Yahoo, and shortly after it just stopped outputting sound. I have since reformatted windows, no luck there. The drivers are all installed, and my microphone still records properly when plugged in, but the speakers (and I've tried 3 different sets) do not output anything. Any ideas? Gateway told me to send it in, but it'll cost an arm and a leg, so I'm trying to avoid that. Thanks in advance!

Chances are you are missing the audio drivers for your sound card. Do you know what type of soundcard you have?

Are you using a VOIP program at the same time such as ventrilo, teamspeak, gamecomm, or Skype?

do you think i might have deleted the audio drivers by mistake?

Do you have a desktop or laptop?
Do you know the make/model? (ex Dell Inspiron 710m)
It sounds to me like it could be a driver, but it also could be other things. Had you installed any new software or tried anything new around the time the problem started? Any other strange things going on with your computer?
It is unlikely that you would have deleted the audio drivers by mistake if you haven't done anything major to your computer lately. But the best way to diagnose a problem like this is troubleshoot and start with the simplest things first.
You may want to bring it in to the OSCR underground help desk at the ILC if you are a U of A student. That would likely be the quickest and easiest solution.

it's a desktop, it's a Belinea, but i don't know anything other than that.
i did install some new software but think that was after the problem started. no music is playing either, it just says there's a problem with my sound device.
i don't go to the university...i just stumbled upon this helpful looking site by accident. :)
Can you be a bit more specific with the error message? Cut and paste the error message if you can.
Do you only have this problem when trying to listen to music, or is it all applications? Have you tried a different set of speakers or headphones with your computer?
It looks like Belinea is the manufacturer of your monitor and not your computer. Could you take a look at the front or side of your computer tower and try and find the manufacturer and/or model number? That would really help track down the sound card, if that's indeed the problem.

okie dokie...
error message:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.
it's not just music, it's all sound.
i've tried headphones and they don't work
as for the model number...i really have no idea whatsoever which one it is...if any...so, this is what i could find. there was only a proof of licence sticker:
product key *********************
NO9-01152
X10-60274
(don't know if that's any good)

The previous post by 'scary fairy' included a licenses product key. It isn't of any use in troubleshooting a software problem, and is something that protected by license agreement. It can NOT be posted publicly or shared in any way, so it has been deleted from the post.
Please refrain from postings that include such protected information.

As Tom said Scary Fairy, license keys (CD-Keys) you want to keep private and never publish them. If someone ask for your CD-Key or license key chances are they are trying to rip you off, and possibly steal your license.
Do you have a link to where you bought the computer? I'm trying to google Belinea and I only come up with a company that produces LCD Monitors.

looks like i'll have to get a local computer expert to take a look. thanks for trying to help anyway
if it is the audio driver, how could it have gone missing and do you know how much it'll cost to fix it?

It shouldn't cost much at all. All the tech should need to do is redownload the driver from the internet and install it. Total Time = 5 minutes. But that's assuming it's a driver issue

Look up your computer or motherboard manufacturer, find the model, and look for the drivers on the relevant site. Download, and run the installer program.

I would visit your computer manufacturer's website, enter in your model number or serial number, and look there.

I have the same onboard sound (Asus P5P800 Motherboard) and have just recently developed similar problems after installing Oblivion... the sounds is fine unless I start certain games, including oblivion and Dungeon Siege (Fear actually works fine for me though) at which point all I get is a crackling noise now and then.
I reinstalled the audio drivers, updated direct x and still no luck being bale to open either of those two games without losing the sound again and having to restart the computer to get sound back.
I'm actually thinking that perhaps the MB is failing :(

Are you sure your speakers aren't blown?
Try hooking them up to an MP3 player and playing something with bass - if it is weird sounding in the same way, you've found your culprit.

I am tooling around with a new Dell Laptop computer that came with a Sigmatel Audio driver for recording and playback. Formally I have been able to record from a larger selection than just line in and microphone, however those are the only options I get with Sigmatel.
I have downloaded a RealTek AC97 driver onto my computer, but it doesn't give me the option to switch to it in sound devices and forces me to stay with Sigmatel. Is there anyway I can change that?

Unless they use the same chipset or something, you should not be able to use the RealTek chipset drivers with a Sigmatel chipset.. Is there something unique about soundcard drivers and interchangability that I am not aware of?
If you're serious about getting good sound through a laptop, I'd suggest investing in a PCMCIA type sound card, like the Audigy 2 ZS, maybe even something fancier like the Audigy 2 NX. It'll run you $70-$90, but if you want decent recording quality, it's worth it.

Wear headphones. That way you hear the game sounds, and the mic just picks up your voice.

Recently my audio is starting to emit a really annoying and headache inducing static sound. I figured it wasn't because my speakers busted because when I plugged my earphones in the sound was still there. I also thought it was a file malfunction. But after thinking it over, that seems highly unlikely. The problem arises in several different games and music. I checked all the files by putting them onto a compact disk or mp3 player, it sounded fine. So I was just wondering if someone could give me some suggestions on this. Thank you in advance. If possible could you e-mail me: kindomheart4 at hotmail. Please and thank you.
