I would like to be able to use headphones on my TV. I've seen the RCA adaptors that are red and white but my TV does not have that. It has one white hole that says "Audio" and one Yellow hole that says "Video". Is there some type of adapter, different from the RCA adaptor, that I can get?

Yellow and white are actually used interchangably by manufacturers. As long as video is hooked to video, and audio to audio, everything should work for you.

Sounds like it isn't a stereo TV. The left audio channel (white) is used by standard in this case. I'd suggest grabbing one of these (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103708&cp=2032058.2032231.2032280&pg=5&allCount=276&fbn=Cable+type%2FAdapter&f=PAD%2FCable+Type%2FAdapter&fbc=1&parentPage=family) at a Radioshack. :)

I thought yellow was typically video, and red and white were typically the left and right audio?
I don't think you'll be able to use headphones with your particular TV. The yellow and white RCA jacks are probably input only, and the TV won't output audio through those jacks (unless they're marked output - but it's normally only on bigger TVs meant to be hooked up to home theatre systems that have RCA audio output jacks).

Oops, yep. I have seen some variation on the actual color of both the plugs and cables, misremembered. :D

I too agree - do the connectors on the TV say "in" or "out"?

They say "In"

It is as Dane said then. Unless there is a mini output jack somewhere else on the TV, or something like that, then you're not going to be able to plug in headphones.

I am trying to hook up my sharp 25r-s100 to my stereo system. I have rca jacks in the front and back of the tv, but none say audio out. Is there something I can buy to allow the audio to go out of the tv and into the stereo receiver?

Unfortunately, unless there is already a wired audio out device on your TV, you're stuck with the speakers you've got.

There are a lot of TVs without audio out. The only way to get audio if your TV does not support it is to take the signal directly from an external video source like your DVD player, cable box, ect. If you are using the TV to decode cable and you need to get that audio, you will need to use an external cable box to actually get an audio output.
