Funny, I'd have expected a media event and Steve Jobs keynote first.
The price is relatively low ($1099 - $1499) in the grand pantheon of Core Duo notebooks - but it still isn't a price drop (I paid $949 for my iBook). Was anybody else hoping for a cheaper Core Solo MacBook? Like $799-$899?
It has just about everything you'll find on the MacBook Pros, feature wise - iSight, Front Row and remote, widescreen aspect ratio, magsafe power connector, digital audio in/out, gigabit ethernet - but in the iBook plastic shell. It also has a magnetic latch - tre cool.
Cons - lack of discrete graphics (a pretty big gripe), no option for a superdrive on the $1099 model (for people that don't want to pay a full extra $200 for the speed bump plus superdrive), the sexy black finish only available on the $1499 model.
Still, quite the step up from last year's iBook for just $100 more.
