i have an executable jar file on a cd- i copied the file to my pc. then i downloaded java 2 -- and i was able to open the file and edit, etc. i was working on it last nite-i left the the file open til this morning, then i closed it and turned off my computer. when i turned it back on, the file would not open. the changes i made last nite were saved when i opened the shockwave flash file... but when i try to reopen the java file so i can make more edits/changes, it wont open. anyone know what the problem is? thanks a bunch!

What are you using to edit the java file, TextPad, Eclipse, etc? Do you get any message when you try to open the file? Try copying the file from the CD to your computer again and see if it opens ok. It could be that the process of leaving the file open overnight somehow corrupted it.
