I just learned the good news that Arizona offers each student their own unique domain (u.arizona.edu/~netID). Now I want to start testing out dreamweaver (which I am also new to) and upload websites to the webspace. I tried confiqureing my dreamweaver 8 but I get stuck on the step to entering in my remote server connection method. I thought it was done via WebDav but that does not seem to work OR I have the field inputs wrong. Either way can someone please give me a step by step on how to set it up such that I edit and such on my laptop and when I am ready I upload the changes via dreamweaver, to my Arizona's server space.
Thank you,
TM

Hello,
the connection method you'll want to use is SFTP. In Dreamweaver, you would select FTP as your connection method and check the "use secure FTP" box. The host would be "u.arizona.edu", and the host directory would be "public_html".
OSCR's Dreamweaver tutorial (available on the tutorials (http://www.oscr.arizona.edu/tutorials) page, or use this direct pdf link (http://www.oscr.arizona.edu/downloads/tutorials/current/dreamweaveruser.pdf)) shows how to do this with screenshots on page 3 or so. If you're interested, OSCR also often offers Dreamweaver workshops (http://oscr.arizona.edu/workshops) in which you use your own U-System account for web setup in Dreamweaver.

As a side note, your U-System account is not set up by default with a web directory that is hosted and viewable online ("public_html"). The first step would be setting up your U-System account so that you have the directory. So, before my previous post's steps, you may want to check out the U-System Web Accounts (http://www.oscr.arizona.edu/downloads/tutorials/current/usys_user.pdf) tutorial, which shows how to set this up. This is also often offered as an OSCR workshop.
If you're using Windows, you can use SSH Secure Shell (https://sitelicense.arizona.edu/ssh/ssh.shtml) instead of Terminal (the tutorial assumes Mac OS X).

1 more Q haha sorry
What are the settings I use to connect to it via Fugu? Under the "connect to" box i put in: "u.arizona.edu/~netid/" yielding no results... Am I typeing it wrong?
I have not done anything else to any other settings, should I?
Thank you,
TM

In Fugu's "connect to" box, you would use "u.arizona.edu" without your NetID or other information on the end. You'll automatically be logged in viewing your home directory based on your NetID (Fugu's "username") and password.
You can leave the "port" box blank - it will default to the standard port, which is correct for the U-System.
If you want, you could put "public_html" in the directory box, or you could leave it blank and double click the directory once you log in. All files you want available on the web must be in "public_html" or a subdirectory of it.
