Can Record, but Cannot Hear Audio

Hello --

I have a SoundMax card on a Win98 computer. I can record audio and hear it on another computer. However, I lost the ability of sound output on this computer.

Any thoughts?

First the obvious (gotta ask): Are you sure there isn't a mute button checked somewhere in your sound settings?
Then: Have you reinstalled the driver?
Then: Have you tried it with different speakers/headphones?
If you've done all of those things, and you still aren't getting any sound output, that suggests that the out on the card is broken. Try getting a cheap-o sound card from bookmans or something, and see if that will work.

Yep, tried all of that. Bummer, I was hoping there was a different trick I was missing.
