Hi, I was reading a post about changing partitioning in WinXP but I need to do this to Windows 98. A friend partitioned my hard drive into a c and d but I have run out of room on c and I need just one now. How do I go about this? I know a bit about computing not alot of tech terms though. Thanks.

Sir/Madam:
The easiest way to do this, is to purchase a program called "Partition Magic" It will allow you to combine both partitions back together without loss of data.

There are free alternatives, though I do not know of many nor would I suggest them.

Thanks. I have the program and it says that I should make sure that the removable media drives are the last drives on my system. How do I know if they are and if they aren't how do I make them the last drives? Thanks again for the help.

As I have not used Partition Magic in quite a while I can only make educated assumptions. However, based on what you told me I would say my answer to this is about 75% correct.

Removable Media meaning Flash Drives, iPods, External Drives, Firewire Devices.

Last Drives on System refers to the Letter assignment of the removable device. For Example C:\System D:\Programs E:\FLASH DRIVE F:\EXTERNAL.
This would be a valid setup.

Having an order such as C:\System D:\Flash Drive E:\Programs wouldn't work since a removable media drive is not assigned a higher letter number.

I hope that made sense.

I have A:\floppy drive, C:\System, D:\System, E:\CDRom and F:\CD Rom. Would this not work because of A drive? And if it won't how do I change it? Thanks again.

Floppy drives are an exception (they're always A).

Back-up your data first. Partition Magic, or any partition sizing program, can completely screw up your partitions. The best course of action would be to copy everything off of the D:, delete the D:, then "grow" the c: in size.
