Hello there,

How do I eliminate unwanted programs from boot up?

Paul:
There a few simple and a few "complex" ways to do this. If you look in "Start--Programs--Statup" there is usually one or two program in there. If you remove these from this directory (via, right click--delete) it will stop these from loading on bootup. Next, on the taskbar you can right click the icon and check its properties. Usually there is an option that tells the program to load on bootup. You can usually uncheck this option. The final way is a bit "complex" in that if you disable something you're not supposed to you can make your system go FUBAR. Steps: "Start--Run--type 'msconfig' (without the ' '). Since I am not on a PC at the moment I will use some guess work. There should be a tab called Startup? Should be near a tab that says services. If you go here you will see a list of programs and processes that start up on boot time. You can go through and uncheck these.

Hope it helps,
Amit Budhu.

P.S. If you want to see how it all looks you can stop by the MLL and I'll be happy to demonstrate.
