power issue again

Computer keeps coming on at the same time every night, when its been shut down.(P2 running winXP) Cannot find an "alarm" or "wake up" enable/disable in the bios. Can anyone one help.

i know that you've checked the BIOS but the only way that i've ever seen a computer do that is through the BIOS. I would check through all the advanced settings again. If you can't figure it out that way, then you are welcome to call 626-TECH and set up an apointment with a OSCR tech. best thing about that is it's free!!!

Question: Are you connecting to the internet via a router? If so, that could very well be the problem. Routers have a feature, called Wake On Lan, which according to some google search's for your issue, have turned clients computers on a few minutes after shutdown.

You can access your router by opening a browser and typing in 192.168.1.1 (Linksys) or 192.168.0.1 (? For Netgear)

As for the specific location of the Wake On Lan feature, I cannot give that you as it differs from vendor to firmware. Mine is under the Administrator tab.
